Hawaii to Oregon on an Outremer

In non-Morgan 38 news, I just snagged a very lucky opportunity to help a friend bring his brand new Outremer 45 catamaran from Hawaii to Portland. Depending on the wind, the trip will probably take around 2 weeks.

It’s a very sweet and new performance cat, that the owner has sailed from France, across the Atlantic, thru the Caribbean and Panama Canal, to the Marquesas, then Hawaii. This boat cost about 20 times more than our Morgan, but it’s *only* about twice as fast!! It really is kinda like being on a space ship fueled by Pixie Dust.

We will probably set sail in the next day or two, and I’m going to try to have my tracker going.

A great opportunity. Have a great ride. When we came home from Hawaii in Adavida, we faced the summer high. We sailed up the west side, crossed the high at about somewhere in the mid forty latitudes, if I recall, but I don't have my log book to check, and then sailed down to the Columbia. In our 10 month trip around the Pacific, the last few days to the Columbia were the most uncomfortable. The boat was covered in water every 5 minutes. We should have gone farther north. Just saying . . . . In any case, enjoy.
